The Chronicles of The Best They Ever Had

Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. -Acts 2:43-47

MUST READ

You all MUST look at this link. Its about some Acts-type revival that happened at UCLA and prayer revivals starting across the nation's campuses. This is amazing because it is definitely the types of things that God has laid in the hearts of everyone at my campus ministry. We must be ready to return to the campuses in power next year! Copy and paste the link into your browser and read the long article in the "recent news" section. Its long....but amazing and encouraging. Makes me think differently....

OK....so really read this thing and comment on it. When i posted it i was still in the middle of reading the article. But now after reading it fully and dwelling on it a little bit, i'm definitely just like 'holy cow' because this is what we should be crying out for. This is what we need to be praying earnestly for because, like the guy said, we need more than just good meetings or bible studies. Thats why i like asking about how different meetings or bible studies are going, and why i press people for more description when all i can get is 'it was good'. I know God is doing/will be doing more than just good meetings when are seeking his movement in bigger ways. I dont know if i'll see a book of acts at nc state, but i sure as heck want to pray for it and do what i can to see it happen. If we set an attitude of expectancy for God to move, God's gonna move sometime. I sure as heck dont feel worthy to ask God for revival because i know that there is some pretty serious stuff i gotta get straight in my life before we can really deal with that. All i know is that, whether or not i succeed at fulfilling what he wants, this type of revival is definitely what he wants and what we should pray for.
I really do want to hear what you guys think of this stuff because its not to be taken lightly and its not something that can happen without the involvement of all believers. So please comment after reading the article--talking about revival is at least a start towards having one. I really believe this God's desire in our generation--but it will only happen when we are willing to sacrafice (which, believe me, is something if have TONS to learn about).

as i started reading the first few paragraphs i was thinking, this is exactly what the book Fireseeds is about which i had to read as part of the crusade leadership. it's about Bill Bright and the stuff that went on in UCLA to get things cracking there. The constant prayer of believers is evident on Winthrops campus too as that is how Crusade got started there and how it got reformed after it had a tough year. it's a big thing to completely rely on prayer, which i don't think we do it enough--pray with expectancy
