The Chronicles of The Best They Ever Had

Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. -Acts 2:43-47

What up yall

I wish we had reading days.....exam time would be much more enjoyable. So i found out that the danged duke people dont want me to do research with their danged program i applied for, so i'm gonna be spending my summer at Clemson doing research with them. I decided on it this morning, and on the one hand i'm excited because i think it'll be really cool but on the other hand i've been a little uneasy because i would have liked to be around the fam and the brothers from ENCM this summer. I'll be at Clemson from may 22 through july 29 and i'll definitely be trying to come hang at rockfish one of those weekends while i'm there and maybe work the week following that (which i think is the week right before yall go to peru?). One thing that i could definitely use prayer for is that i hook up with some folks that i can rub shoulders with spiritually and who i can do some ministry with while i'm at Clemson.
Anyways, hope all are doing well and good luck on all your exams! Study hard.

The Prodigal Daughter

So - its been a while since I've posted or read this thing - and ive returned - so lets slaughter a fat calf and have a celebration! I've been doing really well. I just broke up with my boyfriend because i felt God telling me that it was not right now - and I desperately want to go back - so pray for me, please. I just sent out 30 letters to get funding for the Peru Trip - I'm getting psyched! I have several massive papers due and am procrastinating like crazy - wooo! And most of all, I am letting God work in me to prepare me for camp - I think this summer is going to be amazing! By the looks of it, you guys are all getting psyched too. Which is good. way to go leadership team - you guys are going to be the best "bosses" and the best looking too, if i can go that far. I miss you all dearly and hope that you are all doing amazingly.

I'm outta here

At 4 PM I'm heading over to RDU, and at 6:19 PM my flight leaves for Houston! From Houston I'll fly south to Rio de Janeiro, with a short pause in Sao Paulo on the way. I'll get there around 8:20 EST. To my knowledge, Rio is 3 hours ahead of EST.

Getting super super excited!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm gonna go see the big Jesus (Cristo Redentor) who is 125 feet tall and overlooks Rio.
To see tons of pictures of where I'm going and who I'll be with (minha irmã - "my sister"), here's my sister's webshots.

Love you all!

since Luke has been the author of the past FOUR posts, I figured I would put something up here, just for kicks!

hmm...for those of you who are interested, interview weekend was great, it's always good to be at rockfish but it was also pretty sweet to meet some of the new people (there aren't many) but Wes (Micah's pal) was awesome and is so enthusiastic about the summer without even really knowing all about it, so that's great. Jeff's gal, Jane, is wonderful but actually won't be working at Rockfish, she feels God calling her to another camp, and Stephen, Dawn is cool, we've loved her for awhile now. There were also two new J-staff girls, both who were pretty quiet but I think would be cool girls to get to know. The weekend ran a lot like last years (including making pizza) and we had worship out in campfire circle which, ahh, was so good, I feel like it had been SO SO SO long since being down there. and it was so cool cause when Gene opened up the floor for people to share, I think all but three got up to say something, which was so exciting that already we are able to open up and see where people's hearts are...so that was way cool. it was hard leaving Sunday morning and we didn't even have time to hang out for a little bit, we had to peace out, so yeah, definitely be keeping camp in your guys prayers especially for God to provide good quality senior staff, we need it.

but yeah, things are going well on this end, I am mondo tired, but that's alright. I have a leadership conference with Crusade this weekend, which I am sure will be good instructional time and good fellowship with future leadership peoples, so that is exciting.

anywho, i love you guys and miss you......summer is so close...and for some of us...it's a five year anniversary!!

Wanna help?

So here's a chance to sow some seed and help a brother out..... This year after exams end our campus ministry is going on a retreat to the beach for impartation of some Word, worship, and some good hanging out. To raise money we're having a bowl-a-thon this saturday night. How it works is we get people to pledge a certain money amount to donate to the beach retreat per pin scored from the bowling game we'll play saturday. For example, you could pledge 10 cents per pin, meaning that you'd donate 10 dollars if i bowled a score of 100 (or say 12 dollars if i bowled a 120).
If you'd like to contribute it'd be a HUGE blessing to me and the others that are going on the trip. Let me know ASAP, with saturday afternoon being the latest, if you wanna make a pledge.

Love yall,
Luke

Woooooooooooooo

Wooooooooooooo! God is good!!! I'm about to go to bed, but just finished up one of the best prayer meetings i've ever been to! These are exciting times here at NC State. There has been such a sense of God's moving, which all of us have expressed independently. God's spirit is really moving and speaking to all of us and putting us in unity. I know that i will be able to share praise reports with you about just amazing stuff that will happen here, from people getting saved to signs and wonders. I'm excited!

Hope things have been good at rockfish this weekend. I really really did want to come, but i got work done and i think it was certainly God's will taht i was here for this refreshing prayer meeting with my brothers and sisters here at NCSU. I love and miss you all and pray for God's power and will to be released in your lives in amazing ways!
