The Chronicles of The Best They Ever Had

Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. -Acts 2:43-47

The Prodigal Daughter

Well, after hearing from you guys non-stop about how I must read the blog, and how you cant believe I dont know the information that I'm asking (as I have not read the blog), and how you dont know what im doing (as i have not written on the blog)....I AM WRITING ON THE BLOG AND I HAVE READ SOME OF IT TOO.

Things are going well, insanely busy though. I am working to keep my grades up - which for the first time in my life, is an intense up-hill battle. Biology, might in fact kill me by saturday. So, if im later than i think i will be to the staff reunion (which will be around 3:45 - as I have a saturday exam - boo), it is probably because my brain died from learning all of the proteins that anybody could fathom. Well, despite my moaning and complaining...I have been blessed here. I was appointed to be the fellowship chair for west minister presbyterian (my fellowship group). I am going to Guatemala over spring break, and am working to get funding, etc. I have been to all of the Duke games except for like one - and yes I saw dockery make that amazing shot (go duke, go duke go). All in all, life is busy, and I am looking forward to a break - even though that is packed as well.

And Luke - for you comments on being done with school- I challenge you to a blade fight.
Love ya bunches,
Petra

Guess What?

So today i went to turn in a paper, and after i handed it in, I WAS DONE WITH SCHOOL FOR THE SEMESTER. Thats right, i'm done and you're not SUCKEEEEEEEEERS. I'm done! DONE! The opposite from what you are.
But seriously, you guys should give me a call sometime, since I'M DONE AND YOU'RE NOT, and you'll probably need somebody to help relieve the stress that you have and i dont.
So anyways, good luck on your exams. And dont worry about wishing me good luck on mine, cause they're already done. (although i must admit it sucks that i'm trapped in my dorm starting at 5pm today until sunday morning b/c i'm duty tonight and tomorrow, so you've got that advantage on me).

Stress-less and exam-less,
Luke

Well Its Been Awhile

Once again i stumble back to this blog of ours to blunder up another useless, post, while you guys study hard and prepare for exams at major univeristies I at haywood community college, im still embarassed to tell people where i attend school, breezed through mine 15 minutes at a time, in a least one class my instructor can decide whether its worth it to test us at all. I spend most of my time at wendys where ive grown to dislike the citizens of waynesville and there disturbing love of Wendys food, even though the sewer is backed up in our drive thru.
I still havent found a church and have begun to wonder if i will. i start a class devoted to editing next semester and am excited as for my other class not so much statistics, macroeconomics and psychology.
we move another mile, into an unfurnished condo with insulation thank God.
I play to much halo, and wish desperately to find a better job that doesn't make me feel like a bad person. Good luck with Christmas

Narnia

So i just watched this video clip on cnn.com where on of the Disney creators of the film said if CS Lewis were here he'd say its "just a fantasy book", and the rest of the clip made it look like its a debate whether the film is allegory or not. So, i went to sparknotes to see what the story of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" is (dont read further if you dont want any of the story ruined). Pretty much, Aslan (the lion) is the creator of Narnia, which the evil witch has covered in perpetual winter. The children comes and the witch says one of them acted as a traitor so his life must be taken as payment. Aslan strikes a deal with her and secretly gives up his life instead of letting the witch kill the child (he's tortured right before the witch kills him too, hint hint). Aslan then rises from the dead and kills the witch to restore the kingdom.
So.....how is this not about Jesus? Anyone? Please explain to me how one could even fathom to make an argument otherwise. Also, dont forget the fact that Lewis wrote countless Christian books on top of this series. So why wouldnt this be Christian too?
Anywho, i really just find this funny more than anything else. I know its expected that people deny Christian stuff, but still....this one is a bit rediculous.

Helloooooooooooooo from DH Hill Library

It's exam week and guess what we're doing right now...yes, that's right folks, we (Luke and Jordan) are in the library studying our little brains out. Luke, what are you studying? Well, Jordan, I'm studying Science and Engineering of Biomaterials. What are you studying? Luke, I'm studying for my Literature of the Western World class. FABULOUS. We are the smartest people in this vicinity!
Jordan's going crazy with this coffee and wont stop telling stories that end with her "finding five dollars", so i think the other people in the room are getting annoyed. We shall return to studying and ACE OUR EXAMS.

Signing off,
Jordan "Hasnt read anything for this class since September" McCoy and Luke "Doesnt wanna hear about finding five dollars anymore" Oltmans

DISCLAIMER: Jordan didnt really tell any "five dollar" stories in the making of this post. She was not annoying, but did drink coffee. She is cool. Everyone mail her five dollars.
